Barguna District Fisheries Achievement:
1. Production of fish in the current year - 9,2503.00 in May Ton
2. Hilsa received in Barguna district this year - 64368 May Ton
3. In the last 5 years, the yield of hilsa has increased by 19% in Barguna district.
The government's success in the fisheries sector
1. Bangladesh is currently ranked fourth in the world for producing freshwater fish.
2. The present location of Bangladesh is 25th in the world.
3. Fishery production increased in the internal water bodies on 1131826 May Ton (currently 3084311 MT)
4. Fish production increased in Marine Pond in May 12, 288 Tons (currently 511846 MT)
5. Contribution to the Fisheries sector in GDP is 3.61%
6. Fisheries sector export earns 2893.77 million drill in 5 financial year.
